Arabana Ranger team is hiring



  • 9 days on 5 days off roster

  • Based in Port Augusta, with regular work on Arabana Country

  • Help protect and preserve Arabana Culture and Country

Working alongside the Ranger team you will work across Arabana Country to execute our Healthy Country Plan. As a Ranger you will protect and preserve our natural environment focusing on conservation work across country, this includes protecting cultural significant sites which preserve our heritage for future generations.

To complete work on country you will be comfortable camping out bush on Arabana Country to complete your duties. In addition, Arabana Rangers also undertake regular studies in Conservation and Land Management, Literacy and Numeracy and other training as required.

Key duties include

  • Be an active member of the Arabana Ranger team, work together to achieve work plans aligned to our healthy country plan.

  • Work alongside other conservation groups on joint-management activities to protect and preserve our Country.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by following operational procedures and requirements for tasks undertaken

  • Support the recording of traditional ecological and cultural knowledge in line with our work plans and Traditional Owner expectations.

  • Engage with our Elders and Traditional Owners as required to support the outcomes of the Ranger Program.

You must have a Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s License. Meet Covid-19 vaccination requirements. And be able to complete a Police check and Working with Children check.
