Port Augusta Technical College Aboriginal and Community Engagement

Last week we attended the Port Augusta Secondary School engagement session to hear about the new Port Augusta Technical College.

It was a very successful session with lots of questions, thoughts and ideas put to the consultation team about the new Technical College building design, student accommodation, and the industry training programs that will be offered.

Port Augusta Technical College is set to open its doors in 2025 situated alongside Port Augusta Secondary School. It will provide training opportunities for students across the wider region with a part time teaching model and 40 short stay accommodation facilities on site.

Students will train for careers in key industries in the region including:

  • mining and mineral processing

  • renewable energy

  • manufacturing and construction

  • tourism and hospitality

  • health and social support.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and play. We recognise the cultural, spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and economic connection to their lands, water, flora, and fauna. We honour and pay respects to all elders; past, present, and emerging, as well as all generations of people now and into the future, for they hold the memories and the future.
