Yarnin' About Us

Who We Are

Arabana Heritage & Environm ent Services (AHES) is dedicated to protecting country, preserving heritage, and sharing cultural knowledge for future generations. Through our work, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for Arabana people while fostering sustainable development and cultural preservation.

Why We Stand Out

Our commitment to excellence lies in our deep connection to Arabana Country and our unwavering focus on cultural and environmental stewardship. By combining traditional knowledge with modern practices, we deliver solutions that honor our heritage and drive positive change in the industries and com m unities we serve.

What We Deliver

We offer a comprehensive range of services, including heritage surveys and monitoring, environmental monitoring, data collection, and regeneration programs. Our expertise extends to cultural heritage mapping, which ensures the safeguarding of sacred sites and the stories em bedded within our landscape.

Who We Are For

We serve clients in the mining, government, and pastoral sectors who share our vision for responsible land management and cultural preservation. Our work supports not only our clients but also the Arabana com m unity, enabling a future where economic development and cultural heritage thrive together.

Guiding Industry

The management of Indigenous land requires proper consultation and collaboration with Traditional Owners, ensuring that all works align with cultural, environmental, and heritage considerations. Historically, activities such as mining and pastoralism have caused significant damage to the land, flora and fauna. To address these impacts, it is vital to return to traditional Aboriginal land management practices, complemented by modern environmental techniques to preserve and restore country.

Traditional Owners hold the unique authority to provide cultural and heritage site clearances, safeguarding sensitive areas and preserving cultural heritage. Without their involvement, works on Arabana land and native title area fail to integrate cultural authenticity, heritage protection, and respect for sacred sites. This oversight not only compromises project outcomes but also risks further harm to the environment and cultural values.

In today’s socially conscious landscape, collaboration with Traditional Owners is no longer optional — it is essential. Arabana Heritage & Environment Services is committed

to leading the way by combining the wisdom    of traditional practices with contemporary environmental tools to deliver sustainable solutions that honour both the land and its cultural heritage.

Our Purpose

To care for Arabana Country and uphold the stories, knowledge, and heritage passed down through our ancestors. Our purpose is rooted in connection – to the land, to our culture, and to our community – ensuring these ties remain strong and unbroken for future generations.

We stand for the protection of Country and culture, creating pathways for our people to thrive while restoring balance to the land and waters. By walking in the footsteps of our Elders and embracing the knowledge they have
shared, we honour the past, strengthen the present, and build a future where Arabana culture is alive and flourishing.

Through our work, we seek not just to preserve but to empower, to create opportunities that bring pride, healing, and prosperity to our people and our Country.
