Expression of Interest: Arabana Nharla to Cater Arabana Ngura (Camp) - July 11-14

The Arabana Aboriginal Corporation is calling on Arabana nharla (people) who are interested in catering for the upcoming Arabana Ngura (camp) from July 11-14.

We’re looking for cooks to help prepare meals for 100 people during the event.

This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved and help feed our community as we come together to celebrate and learn at Finniss Springs.

What’s involved:

  • Breakfast on July 12, 13, and 14

  • Dinner on July 11, 12, and 13

  • Managing the food serving area, including tea, coffee, and ensuring everything runs smoothly

We’re offering two options for those interested in either being employed as cooks OR for existing catering businesses:

  1. Option 1: The AAC will employ two people as cooks to prepare the meals and supply the food and ingredients on-site. This includes cooking things like bacon and eggs, BBQ meats, salads, pasta sauce, and more. Experience in food preparation is required for this option.

  2. Option 2: If you or your group already have experience in catering (or run a catering business), you can supply your own menu. You can either:

    • Provide all the food yourself as part of your employment, or

    • Provide us with a shopping list, and we will purchase the food for you.

Who can apply?

  • This opportunity is open to Arabana community members who have experience in catering or catering businesses.

  • We are looking for people who are passionate about food, our community, and being part of something special.

If you’re interested in being part of the team for Arabana Ngura, please get in touch with us at admin@arabana.com.au or call 8641 1583 for more details and to register your interest.

We are aiming to bring the community together and support local Arabana cooks and caterers in this opportunity to make this event a success!
