Aboriginal Engagement Network Meeting

Last week AAC Board Member Zaaheer McKenzie and Business Development Manager Jodi Shaw attended the Aboriginal Engagement Network meeting at the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden in Port Augusta, hosted by South Australian Arid Lands (SAAL).

It was fantastic to see a room filled with representatives from around the region to discuss updates from the SAAL Board, Healthy Country Plans, the next Indigenous Ranger Gathering plus a presentation from Indigenous Desert Alliance (IDA) on Cultural Burning.

It was also great to get an update from everyone around the room and find out what different mobs are doing on country and within their communities.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and play. We recognise the cultural, spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and economic connection to their lands, water, flora, and fauna. We honour and pay respects to all elders; past, present, and emerging, as well as all generations of people now and into the future, for they hold the memories and the future.
