Congratulations to Heywire Winner, Tresna from Oodnadatta!

We are incredibly proud of Tresna, a young Yankunytjatjara and Pitjantjatjara woman living on Arabana Country, for being named a 2025 Heywire winner! Tresna's story highlights the strength, pride, and resilience of the remote community. Growing up in Oodnadatta, she stays deeply connected to her culture, whether she's out hunting with family or expressing herself through painting while at boarding school.

Tresna's message to the world is clear: "Don’t be afraid of who you are, be proud of your culture, and stand up for what's yours." We couldn’t agree more, and we celebrate her achievements as a role model for all young people in outback communities.

We look forward to seeing all the incredible things Tresna will continue to do.

We recognise the cultural, spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and economic connection to their lands, water, flora, and fauna. We honour and pay respects to all elders; past, present, and emerging, as well as all generations of people now and into the future, for they hold the memories and the future.
