Have Your Say: Strategic Blueprint for Outback SA

The Outback Communities Authority is developing a significant initiative known as the Strategic Blueprint for Outback SA. This plan aims to address the challenges that limit Outback SA’s potential and outline strategies for enhancing facilities and services over the next decade. The goal is to improve the region for everyone and guide investment, advocacy, and partnerships.

Why It's Important

The Blueprint will encompass environmental, social, cultural, economic, and infrastructural issues in Outback SA. By addressing these areas, it aims to improve community livability, protect culture and heritage, tackle climate change, and support economic growth and housing.

Community Participation

The Authority emphasises the importance of community input to ensure the Blueprint reflects the needs of everyone connected to Outback SA. Participation is encouraged from residents, workers, and visitors.

  • Draft Blueprint: The draft is available for review to understand the proposed plan.

  • Community Consultation Sessions: A schedule of sessions is available for those interested in participating.

  • Email Feedback: Feedback can be sent directly to oca@sa.gov.au.

Community feedback will be instrumental in shaping the final Blueprint. After consultations, a “What We Heard” report and the finalised document will be published on the Outback Communities Authority’s website.

Next Steps

Following the feedback collection from communities, stakeholders, and government agencies, the final Blueprint will be prepared and presented to the Minister for consideration.

This is a valuable opportunity for the community to influence the future of Outback SA. For more information and to get involved, visit the Outback Communities Authority website: https://www.oca.sa.gov.au/get-involved/strategic-blueprint

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and play. We recognise the cultural, spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and economic connection to their lands, water, flora, and fauna. We honour and pay respects to all elders; past, present, and emerging, as well as all generations of people now and into the future, for they hold the memories and the future.
