The Arabana Rangers have recently completed their first professional weed management work order under the SAAL Weed Management Contract, targeting Buffel Grass and African Rue. This marks another important milestone for the team as they continue to grow their capability in delivering practical, on-ground environmental contract services.

Beyond the on-ground outcomes, this work represents a meaningful step toward fee-for-service opportunities and long-term sustainability for the Ranger program. By building experience in contracted work, the Rangers are strengthening their skills, systems, and confidence to take on future projects that align with caring for Country while also supporting the Corporation’s goal of becoming more self-sustaining.

Undertaking this contract has allowed the team to apply their knowledge in a professional setting. We are proud to see the Rangers continuing to grow in this space and look forward to expanding future fee-for-service work that supports both environmental outcomes and sustainable economic pathways for Arabana people, now and into the future.
