Arabana Rangers Gain Commercial Drone Licences

Our Arabana Rangers have recently completed their commercial drone licence training, working alongside Kokatha and Gawler Rangers. This training now allows our team to operate drones up to 25kg, giving us powerful new tools to map, monitor, and record Arabana Country more effectively.

The course was held at Roxby Station, where Rangers learned the rules, safety requirements, and practical skills needed to fly drones the right way. These new capabilities will support our work across cultural heritage, environmental monitoring, and caring for Country into the future.

A big thank you to the team at Kokatha Pastoral for your warm hospitality, it was truly appreciated, and we really enjoyed our time together. We look forward to working with you mob again and continuing to build strong relationships between our Ranger teams.

We also want to acknowledge and thank the Indigenous Desert Alliance (IDA) and Chris Warrior for their support in making this training possible.

This is a great step forward for our Rangers and the work we do on Arabana Country.
